Our Mission

Aghaz-e-Nau: Our Mission

We strive to be the most effective organization by developing innovative approaches, providing appropriate services and ensuring lasting benefits for the most vulnerable groups in society. We promote the health and dignity of individuals and communities impacted by drug use, HIV/AIDS, stigma and discrimination. Our policies and programs help people build confidence and self esteem. We recognize that the structures of social inequality impact the lives and options of affected communities differently, and work to uphold every individual's right to health and well-being, as well as in their competence to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their communities. We believe that prevention is the key to fight against drug abuse & HIV prevention.

What We Need

We are providing HIV prevention services to 4000 people who inject drugs (PWIDs). We also provide Voluntary Confidential Counseling and Testing (VCCT) services. Through VCCT services, we identified 45% of the total PWIDs with HIV positive status. The need help, they need treatment, they need care and so as their families. They need to be guided and advocated. We plan to initiate a project to help people living with HIV/AIDS by providing them free Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) and Care & Support.  They need ART and Care & Support program, their spouses and children too. Your contribution will help them improve their quality of life. The project is being initiated with the following objectives:
·  to reduce HIV-associated morbidity and prolong the duration and quality of survival,
·  to restore and preserve immunologic function,
· to  maximally and durably suppress plasma HIV viral load, and
·  to prevent HIV transmission.
It is estimated that the treatment cost of two people living with HIV/AIDS is $ 50000 and this is the goal of this campaign. We have to provide treatment to 2000 people living with HIV/AIDS. Total cost for 2000 people is too high. We will start another campaign once we achieve our goal of $ 50000 as your contribution will give us confidence to move ahead to help more people.
The Impact
Doctors measure HIV by the viral load -- that's the amount of the virus in the bloodstream. The goal of treatment is to get the viral load so low that tests can't even detect the virus anymore. HIV is still there, but there's not enough of it to cause symptoms as a result quality of life gets better and treatment reduces HIV-associated morbidity and prolong the duration and quality of survival,
