Aghaz-e-Nau

A seminar on "Drug Abuse Prevention" was conducted for the students of Punjab Group of Colleges on 15 th March 2011, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The seminar was held by Aghaz-e-Nau in collaboration with Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and Punjab Group of Colleges. Brig. Afzal Shahid, Force Commander, Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), Punjab joined the event as a Chief Guest to grace the occasion with his presence. Comparing was carried out by Nida Asghar, one of the students of Punjab Group of Colleges. Welcome Note , a brief introduction of Aghaz-e-Nau (AeN), Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC) was given by Hayyab Tariq. A presentation was given by Ms. Maria Ali, Drug Demand Reduction Officer (ANF, Punjab). She discussed the classification of drugs, history of different drugs, how drugs are used and hazards of drug abuse. A seminar was held on 5 th March, 2011 in collaboration with Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC) by Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), Government of Pakistan and Aghaz-e-Nau, a nonprofit organization. The main focus of the seminar was to introduce “Drug Free Lahore City Project” and to educate the students about the hazards of drug abuse. Mr. Muhammad Altaf Qamar, Deputy Director General, Anti Narcotics Force, Government of Pakistan joined the program as a Chief Guest .  Col. Iftikhar Chaudry, Joint Director (RD), Mr. Javed Iqbal, Joint Director (DDR) and Ms. Maria Ali, Drug Demand Reduction Officer, Anti Narcotics Force, Punjab also attended the program. The program started with the National Anthem. Ms. Maria Ali, Drug Demand Reduction Officer, Anti Narcotics Force, Punjab gave a presentation and explained the role of ANF in drug supply reduction and drug demand reduction.
